Welcome to World's Largest Cruise Week, October 17-23, 2011. This is the one week out of the year that most cruise lines will offer incredible discounts, upgrades, on board credit or reduced deposit to those savy people who book their cruise this week. If you are considering a cruise in the next 12-14 months, now is the time to book. Why? I'm glad you asked!
1. The further out you book, the longer you have to pay for it. A deposit will be due 24-48 hours from making the reservation, and final payment is due 75 days prior to your travel. That leaves you a lot of time to make monthly or quarterly payments.
2. With the upgrades offered by some cruise lines, you get more for your money. For example, the least expensive stateroom in an ocean view on a Carnival Cruise is category 6A. During their sale week, you can be upgraded to a 6D or higher. This saves you $200 or more on this stateroom. Great deal!
3. Some cruise lines are offering on board credit for booking this week. This can range from $50-$500 depending on the length of sailing, type of stateroom and cruise line. Just think what even $100 would buy on board: a spa treatment, shore excursion, photos, t-shirts or jewelry from the on board gift store.
Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Call us today for a quote on your next cruise vacation. Check out our website at http://www.bhtravel.com/ and click on World's Largest Cruise Week to view a special video showcasing some of our favorite cruise lines.
Try something new next year. Sail the South Pacific on Paul Gauguin and dive in Tahiti or Fiji. Sail down the rivers of Europe on AMAWaterways. Pamper yourself with Butler Service on Regent. Let us help you find the right cruise for you.
Keep in mind we have several Bentley Hedges Travel specials for next year. Call or email me for details.
Where will we SEA you next year?

More Fun from Carnival
One comment I have never understood: "I was bored on my cruise". HOW!!!! There is so much to do that you sometimes need a vacation when you return because you're so exhausted from all the fun. Well, Carnival announced this week a new program called "FunShip 2.0". The Carnival Liberty will be the first ship to offer these new options, and it will be fleet wide by 2015. The Carnival Conquest (sailing out of New Orleans starting in November) will be re-fitted with these options next fall (2012). I can't wait!!!
Here is what you can look forward to.
George Lopez has been named Creative Director of Comedy and will be in charge of the Punchliner, the onboard Comedy Club. Punchliner comics will make 10 minute cameos in the dining room each evening as well as at their own show.
Guy Fieri will develop a burger venue called Guy's Burger Joint. There will be 5 types of burgers created by Guy and his own special onion rings. Guests can also design their own burgers using the condiment station. There is NO charge for these burgers.
Another no cost eatery will be the the Blue Iguana Cantina, located poolside and featuring 3 types of tacos, 3 kinds of burritos, plus chips and salsa. An automated tortilla maker will make fresh wheat and jalapeno tortillas.
New bars and lounges: The EA sports bar featuring EA Sports videogames, a video wall comprised of 16 46-inch displays, and real-time sports scores. It will feature hot pretzels and beer. The RedFrog Rum Bar will be a poolside version of the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub which debuted on the Carnival Magic. It will specialize in rum based frozen drinks and beers. Just across the deck will be the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, providing a Mexican themed atmosphere with live music, tequila based frozen drinks and Mexican beers. Alchemy Bar is Carnival's vintage-themed cocktail lounge where mixologists will ''prescribe" concoctions. The Library Bar is a new intimate cocktail lounge featuring bar service and automatic wine dispensers.
For family fun, Carnival has partnered with Hasbro, The Game Show, to offer productions and activities based on the Family Game Night television show from The Hub. Six main games are to be featured. There will be no cost for participating in the games and the prizes will be fabulous.
Carnival is also updated their evening productions with new technology.
Whew! What a choice of activities, eateries and entertainment. I can't wait to experience these new amenities. What about you?
Keeping these updates in mind, please join us October 17 as we kick off the World's Largest Cruise Week.
October 17-23 will feature cruise specials including upgrades, on board credit or reduced deposit amounts. Each cruise line is different so call us for specific information on your favorite cruise line, or visit us at www.bhtravel.com. Our kick off event will be held at the Moore Chamber of Commerce October 17 at 2pm and 5pm. RSVP at 405-237-3333.
Hope to SEA you there!! (And let me know what you think of Carnival's new upgrades).
